Shop Feature

This week I wanted to share some of my favorite Etsy shops. I have tons, so expect more of these posts in the future. Stay tuned for shop news at the end of the post.

Shop Notes:
Colored zebra print bangles are still "in the works" so anytime between now and Christmas, I should have some listed.  I'm working on designs with the leaf motif and ironing out the kinks.
So many ideas, not enough time.

Grad school starts tomorrow so I expect to be staying very busy after a not so quiet summer.
If you have any questions about my shop or when new listings are coming (soon, I promise), please feel free to contact me.

Shop Sneak Preview!

Sneak Preview of new Items for the Shop!

Giraffe Print Bangles - still need a little TLC before they are listed. Will be offered individually and sets of 3.

Leaf Charm Earrings, Bracelets, and Necklace Designs - So excited about these! Numerous possibilities for colors, even different shapes and textures. Working on some bangle designs with these as the jumping off point soon.

Coils! Got my new coiling gizmo a few weeks ago and have already used if for a couple items in the shop.  My last sneak preview for this week is an aurora borealis inspired paddle bead with coiled half-frame on black cord. I spent so much time trying to come up with the perfect way to showcase this batch of beads and this is a great solution. One bracelet and one pendant in each of two colorways. The first is going to be in the coming week's batch of listings.

Ornaments - It's never too early to start shopping for Christmas decorations. In the off-season, put them in a basket, bowl, or vase and admire all year round (my interior design tip for the day!)  Working on new colors of filigree ornaments. It's a technique that looks beautiful every time.

Plans for the Coming Months

Welcome to my blog. I've revived it from the internet wasteland (and removed all old posts. It had been two years since my last update.)

I will be the first to say that I am a slacker of a blogger.  Currently, I work on ValenStar Jewelry and Designs full time in addition to resuming full time graduate study in Interior Architecture and Design in September.  I live at home with my parents and our three heathen dogs (said with love, I swear) and make sure mom gets to all of her appointments and keep her sane now that she is no longer able to work. My business and my assorted other hobbies are a reprieve from all of the craziness that my life has become these last few months.  See why I'm a slacker blogger now? Only so many hours in the day.

I have a plan to not be a slacker blogger! Here's what I want to share on this blog:
Upcoming shows and new listing newsletter-style post (all of the week's listings)
New products in my Etsy shop and website. I'm also slowly adding listings to Zibbet.
Ideas I'm working on - bead designs, cane designs, etc.
Other artists' whose work I love - I think this is SO important to connect with other handmade business owners but I'm also thinking about featuring some vintage shop owners and supply shop owners off Etsy.
Interior Design stuff - great interiors, great architecture, and great furnishings.
Fiber stuff - My hobbies include knitting, crochet, spinning, and soon I hope to add weaving to the list. Got my eye on a Kromski Harp.

Goal: One post per week. I'll schedule it on my calender if I have to. Doubling up one week is allowed but does not carry over to the next week. We'll see how long this lasts.

If you see this, and know of a shop I should be posting about, feel free to let me know at valenstar @ yahoo.com (remove spaces first).
